Stewardship 2026
Highlights of our Stewardship in 2025
- Welcomed a record number of newcomers, explorers and inquirers and engaged them in adult education and ministries
- Adapted catechism effort to meet new demands
- Maintained stewardship count
- Focused on liturgical life and participation in sacraments
- Held the Agape Meal every Sunday - the main place of growing our family in fellowship after Liturgy
- Sanctified time through weekday services on Wednesdays and Fridays and major feast days
- Continued the daily Church University until before Lent (in its 5th year)
- Held weekly Book Forums which read and studied another 4 books
- Embraced the Lenten disciplines – fasting, personal prayer, collective prayer and almsgiving
- Hosted Bishop Ioannis for the feast of Saint John the Baptist
- Hosted the two Orthodoxy 101 Introductory classes: Basics of Orthodoxy and Journey to Fullness
- Offered the ten-session Marriage class with new instructors and in a new format
- Continued running the Orthodox Montessori Church Preschool
- Maintained the Ladies I-Help from at 16 visits per year
- Continued serving monthly at the Food Bank
- Pursued opportunities to purchase church property in Monterey
- Held the second Evangelism Season – run by the Mission and Evangelism team
- Increased sponsorship to two Mission Priests in Africa through OCMC
- Introduced new talent at the Chant Standd
- Supported philanthropic needs through the Philoptochos effort and from our parish budget (2% of our total income) exceeded by private generosity in the following areas:

San Francisco Metropolis Fund to victims of the Los Angeles Fires, Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, Sponsor two Priests attending HCHC, National Philoptochos Children’s Medical Fund, Compassion Pregnancy Center of Monterey, Presbytera Benevolent Fund, Monterey County Food Bank and parishioners in need.
